SURF PHOTOGRAPHY

ARTISTIC. EPIC. DOCUMENTAL.

For the 2026 surf season (may-june), I’ll be joining Salina Cruz Surf Camp as a guest resident surf photographer, capturing real performance and raw moments from the water and above—so every great session lives beyond the ride.

IN-WATER PHOTOGRAPHY

Capture the moment. Keep it forever.

Moments of contemplation or pure action.

While the wave is tubing and you’re riding it, my eye captures what could become your new favorite surf photograph.

DRONE VIDEOGRAPHY

NOTHING CAPTURES THE FLOW MORE THAN THE MOVING IMAGE.

Synchronized, I follow you from above so that epic ride doesn’t live only in words. Your friends and family will see it exactly as you lived it.

FAQ

Why is in-water surf photography a specialized service?

In-water surf photography requires specialized equipment, ocean knowledge, and real experience in the lineup. Each session involves working close to surfers and waves, managing high-risk gear inside a housing, and constantly reading ocean conditions. It’s a demanding environment that requires preparation, timing, and focus — which is why sessions are limited and carefully planned.

How does in-water photography complement beach photography?

Beach photography and in-water photography work best together. Beach-based photos capture the full scene, wave shape, and flow of the session, while in-water photography focuses on proximity, emotion, and detail from inside the lineup. Combined, they tell a more complete story of your surf experience.

Do I need to be an advanced surfer to book a session?

In-water sessions are best suited for intermediate to advanced surfers who are comfortable in the lineup and can surf consistently. This helps ensure safety, proper positioning, and stronger images. If you’re unsure whether it’s the right fit, feel free to reach out before booking.

Why do I need to book my session in advance?

In-water and documentary coverage is limited by conditions, safety, and availability. I work with a small number of clients at a time to maintain quality and focus. Booking ahead secures your session and allows planning around swell, light, and tides for the best possible outcome.

How can I use the photos and videos I receive? (Legal FAQ)

All sessions include personal use rights, meaning you’re free to share your photos and videos on social media and personal platforms. Commercial use (brands, sponsors, surf camps, or paid promotions) requires a separate licensing agreement. Authorship always remains with the photographer, and credit is appreciated whenever possible.
